Technical Sales Specialist

The Sales and Estimation role is a key position within the Wood Group, responsible for leading the sales of projects, mill outage services, and debarking line audits. This position also focuses on further business generation in the areas of maintenance, rebuilding, and/or upgrading of existing equipment.
The responsibilities of the Sales and Estimation role include:
- Utilizing global process guidelines to address project-related sales decisions
- Proposing regional targets based on global initiatives and budget outlines
- Providing excellent customer satisfaction through responsiveness and quality proposals
- Achieving a holistic understanding of the customer's business
- Exceling at customer relationship management
- Collecting and disseminating market information and competitor intelligence
- Developing sales lead functions, including strategic planning and the launch of new products and business models
- Contributing to marketing and customer-facing events
- Executing timely CRM entries, updates, and forecasting
- Prioritizing work, including shifting priorities to respond to changing customer and business needs
- Identifying potentially adverse customer responses and developing solution-oriented alternatives
- Operating with integrity and transparency to build trust and solid relationships
- Exhibiting active listening skills to understand the expectations and needs of customers and internal stakeholders
- Ability to interact with industry decision-makers and sensitivity toward multicultural factors in negotiation
The ideal candidate will possess:
- An engineering or technical degree
- Experience in sales and financial management tasks
- General knowledge of the Pulp and Paper Industry
- Wood processing, bulk handling equipment, or industry-related sales experience preferred but not required
- Strategic planning and leadership skills
- Excellent oral presentation and written communication skills in English
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Ability to collaborate as a cross-functional team player and effectively interface with other internal departments
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills: ability to understand, prioritize, and respond to multiple external and internal customers' demands and to manage conflict constructively
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
- Display flexibility to rapidly changing schedules and travel
- Feeling comfortable and competent to self-initiate initiatives in a compliant fashion
- Ability to understand and apply Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions, and company Compliance/Regulatory/Legal guidelines
- Regional adaptation, communication, and implementation of Division's Global strategy, targets, and business processes
- Regional coordination and alignment across Product Groups for Service, Capital, PPAD, and other key stakeholders
- Business coaching of key position holders to provide specialized knowledge and grow market share
- Proficiency with the utilization of computer, including the Microsoft Office platform (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, OneNote) and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Flexibility to work some nights and weekends as needed
- Travel required as needed
