Job Summary

Clinical Pharmacist plays a vital role in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling, and teaching. This position requires a strong understanding of pharmacology, patient assessment, and medication management.

Responsibilities
  • Fill orders for medications and monitor patient drug therapies
  • Provide drug information and patient counseling
  • Supervise and direct supportive staff
  • Assume director-level responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Pharmacy
Qualifications
  • One year hospital experience required (new graduates considered)
  • Two to three years hospital experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and handle stress appropriately
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule
  • Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests
  • Ability to manage a diverse workforce
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing pharmacy practice
  • Commitment to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct
Education/Licensure
  • BS or Pharm. D. from a School of Pharmacy
  • Current license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy
  • ASHP IV certification or successful completion of an ACPE/ASHP accredited program within 180 days of hire if not already certified
