Respiratory Therapist Job Description

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in our respiratory department. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in respiratory therapy principles and practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized respiratory care plans.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on respiratory health and disease management.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of respiratory care policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months OR active Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential issued by the NBRC if credential received prior to January 1, 2019.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
