Position Overview
As a Remote Scheduling Coordinator at Community Health Systems, you will be instrumental in fulfilling our mission to provide exceptional healthcare services. Your role will involve establishing meaningful connections with patients while ensuring they receive the quality care they deserve.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage incoming calls for various clinics and utilize call center technology effectively.
  • Adhere to established scheduling protocols and apply critical thinking to navigate unique situations.
  • Identify urgent requests and facilitate warm transfers to appropriate clinic personnel.
  • Accurately schedule patients for providers and ancillary services across multiple clinics and medical groups.
  • Investigate patient inquiries within medical records and relay pertinent information to patients or other entities.
  • Document non-urgent clinical calls in the EMR system, including refill requests and referral inquiries.
  • Monitor designated EMR communication boxes for updates from clinics.
  • Validate and input patient information, including demographics and insurance details.
  • Ensure insurance eligibility and correct primary care provider assignments are verified.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in educational sessions and departmental meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required Experience:
+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in a business office setting related to healthcare, including areas such as billing, collections, customer service, patient access, or scheduling. Relevant education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Experience:
+ At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, with additional education in business or healthcare management potentially substituting for experience.
