LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our client's team in Bohemia, NY. This direct hire role offers a unique opportunity to expand your engineering career within a state-of-the-art technology organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and installing electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, parts, and components. They will also create concept drawings, design assemblies, and fabrications drawings, as well as BOMs and manuals. Additionally, they will review and approve system design drawings and schematics, and utilize SolidWorks to create 2D and 3D designs.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience in designing, integration, and fabrication of complex electro-mechanical systems. They will also be proficient in reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation in AutoCAD, and have a strong understanding of motion control design, motor/gearbox components, and design.

The role requires a US citizen or permanent resident legally authorized to work in the US, and a valid and current US Driver's License. The successful candidate will also be required to pass a complete background check and drug test.

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year, and benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401k + match, and PTO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and install electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, parts, and components.
  • Create concept drawings, design assemblies, and fabrications drawings, as well as BOMs and manuals.
  • Review and approve system design drawings and schematics.
  • Utilize SolidWorks to create 2D and 3D designs.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with US and European standards, defined quality standards, and all related organizational design and safety standards.
  • Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot/repair, and/or test systems (approximately 25%).
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned, including clean-up, light maintenance duties, material movement, inventory counts, crate/pallet building, furniture assembly, and forklift operation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
  • Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience in designing, integration, and fabrication of complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation in AutoCAD.
  • Highly proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD.
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Must have valid and current US Driver's License.
  • Must be willing and able to successfully pass a complete background check and drug test.
  • Must be available and willing to work extended hours and weekends.
  • Prior experience working with BOMs and/or computerized MRP or ERP systems preferably MS Dynamics.
  • Prior experience and solid understanding of motion control design along with motor/gearbox components and design.
  • Working knowledge and experience with ISO and/or NQA-1 quality standards and procedures.
