Role: Substance Use Disorder Counselor - Outpatient MAT

Qualifications: Master's Degree or one of the following: CAC, CAS, CADAC, CRC, LADC, LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT

Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Hybrid Work Option: Available for those with significant experience in addiction counseling. Hybrid clinicians will receive a laptop and can work partially in the clinic and partially from home after completing the initial on-site training.

Remote Work Considerations: To qualify for a remote position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Must reside in Massachusetts
  • Must complete initial on-site training at designated locations.

Lynn Comprehensive Treatment Center, part of Acadia Healthcare's Comprehensive Treatment Centers, is dedicated to providing medication-assisted treatment across the nation. Our counseling team is committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality support to individuals seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.

Role Responsibilities:

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor plays a vital role in facilitating patient recovery from opioid use disorder. Counselors deliver compassionate care through various methods, including individual and group therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, empathetic guidance in individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Plan, manage, and document patient recovery progress.
  • Co-facilitate group or family therapy sessions as necessary.
  • Ensure timely and clear documentation of patient care and treatment.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans for each patient.
  • Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
  • Assess patient needs and determine referrals to additional programs or facilities.
  • Coordinate aftercare planning for assigned patients.
  • Provide crisis intervention as required.
  • Manage case responsibilities for patients, ensuring tailored quality care.
  • Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients when needed.
Required Qualifications:

Education and Skills:
  • Master's degree in a social or health services field is mandatory.
  • Degree must be from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience in addiction recovery and/or MAT (medication-assisted treatment) settings is essential.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • If the candidate does not hold a Master's degree, one of the following is required:
    • CAC, CAS, CADAC, CRC, LADC, LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT
