Position Summary:

The Intake Specialist plays a crucial role in the Family and Youth Services Support Program by conducting initial eligibility assessments for individuals seeking crisis pregnancy services, foster care support, and community resources. This position is vital in connecting individuals with necessary services in their respective communities.


Program Coverage:

This initiative serves nine counties in Texas, including Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, and Waller. The role involves supporting rural areas, necessitating some travel.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with program participants using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach.
  • Conducts eligibility screenings for individuals seeking assistance, advocating for those who qualify and providing information and referrals for others.
  • Completes intake processes for eligible clients by assessing individual and family needs and establishing initial client files for Service Coordinators.
  • Handles incoming communications, including calls and emails, while assisting with office management tasks.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of case notes, participant files, and necessary reports in the Salesforce system.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure participants receive and maintain essential services for stability.
  • Exhibits exceptional customer service by prioritizing the needs of clients, families, and veterans in alignment with our mission to empower individuals.

Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor's degree required.


Experience:

Minimum of 2 years in a social service agency and 2 years in a customer service environment. Experience with mental health or homeless populations is advantageous.


Attendance:

Regular and acceptable attendance is required.


Licenses:

Valid Driver's License with a clean record is necessary.


Vehicle:

Access to a vehicle for daily use is required.


Additional Information:

Willingness to travel to various locations as needed for business purposes is essential.
