Job Title: Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Ledgent Finance & Accounting. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of grants, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, and providing financial reporting to grantors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage grant budgets, forecasts, and expense tracking.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to grantors.
  • Collaborate with program managers and grant writers to develop budgets and ensure grant guidelines adherence.
  • Process accounts payable and manage expense allocations for grant-funded programs.
  • Analyze grant expenditures to ensure accuracy and proper coding.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to grantors on a timely basis.
  • Participate in the audit process and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Monitor revenue and expenses for grant-funded programs and identify discrepancies or variances.
  • Utilize Excel and other financial software to analyze data and create reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant accounting and management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and government regulations related to grants.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other financial software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with grant audits and providing documentation and support.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accuracy while working under tight deadlines.
