Job Title: Diesel Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at Ryder System. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
  • Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
  • Basic tools, required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • All other certification as required by location, required
