Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Autonomous Systems Field Test Manager to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Group, you will be responsible for designing, scheduling, coordinating, and executing field tests for our autonomous systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute field tests for autonomous systems, including planning, coordination, and execution of test events
  • Collaborate with leaders, engineers, facility, and sponsor representatives to develop and execute test events meeting the needs of all parties
  • Apply experience with autonomous system operations for the development of test events, including decisions on aspects such as flight patterns, durations, repetitions, communications, and test artifacts
  • Write test procedures and protocols to plan and document the test events in accordance with test objectives and artifacts
  • Participate in test events as part of an interdisciplinary team in a variety of roles: lead, member, and coordinator
  • Evaluate and analyze test results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, and capture after actions and lessons learned
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the military with experience with development, testing, or operations of autonomous systems
  • Strong organizational skills and experience as a coordinator or facilitator
  • Strong writing and editing skills useful for development of plans, schedules, and summaries
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to multi-task across several projects and work independently
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals of different experience levels and backgrounds
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Top-Secret level clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the military with experience with development, testing, and operations of autonomous systems
  • Experience with field logistics such as security, shipping, hazardous materials (lithium batteries), frequency authorization, etc.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
