About the Position:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Manager for Internal Audit Quality Assurance within our Quality Assurance (QA) team. This role is pivotal in leading and overseeing QA audit execution reviews along with monitoring and validation activities. The QA function is dedicated to providing independent assurance that the Audit department adheres to the highest standards of internal audit delivery, in alignment with IIA Standards, the FRB Supplemental Policy Statement on the Internal Audit Function, and relevant Audit policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the execution of the QA Strategy by supervising scorecard assessments and real-time reviews of audit engagements, including issue validations and thematic reviews.
  • Evaluate Audit methodologies against IIA and regulatory standards, ensuring that action plans are executed effectively.
  • Conduct validations of audit-related regulatory issues prior to submission to regulatory bodies.
  • Foster and maintain robust relationships with Internal Audit and key stakeholders, including regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to defined timelines.
  • Guarantee that QA engagements are conducted in accordance with established QA policies and procedures.
  • Guide team members by providing constructive feedback, coaching, and professional development support.
  • Employ critical thinking to identify and assess risks, proposing solutions with minimal guidance.
  • Utilize professional judgment to challenge assumptions and escalate quality concerns as necessary.
  • Engage effectively with senior management to present findings objectively.
  • Analyze complex problems and offer appropriate solutions.
  • Exhibit professional skepticism throughout the audit process.
  • Deliver results in an unbiased manner to all management levels.
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Management Consulting, Strategy Consulting, or Business Operations, or equivalent experience through a combination of work, training, military service, or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 7 years of experience in auditing.
  • Audit experience within a large financial institution or auditing firm.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Strong knowledge of audit or risk methodologies and related tools.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CAMS, CRCM, CIA, or CISA.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment across all organizational levels.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand setting while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with banking, financial, auditing, and risk management functions.
  • Leadership experience in professional auditing or risk management roles.
  • In-depth understanding of the financial regulatory landscape.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the financial services industry and its regulatory environment.
  • Experience leading and directing a geographically dispersed team.
