Compliance Auditor 1

The Compliance Auditor 1 - Physician is responsible for monitoring and auditing established mechanisms and controls to ensure compliance with regulations. This role involves auditing the activities of various departments to ensure compliance with plans, policies, and procedures prescribed by management.

- Audit the activities of various departments to ensure compliance with plans, policies, and procedures
- Prepare and submit reports on the results of audits, recommending improvements in policies and procedures
- Cooperate with outside auditors in any undertaking that may expedite their work
- Perform other duties as needed
- Associate's Degree required
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Minimum two years of experience in auditing within healthcare, compliance, or regulatory oversight agency, quality management, quality assurance, or business analysis required
- Experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Basic understanding of Physician-based audits/projects required
- Working knowledge of compliance issues related to CMS and OIG pronouncements
- Able to write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access
- Must possess pertinent skills with respect to preparing and delivering verbal and written presentations, including English language skills
- Highly functional and well-demonstrated process skills
- Demonstrated flexibility in project and initiative management, ensuring the timely completion of required work in conjunction with constantly moving deadlines and multiple priorities
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required
- Able to demonstrate diplomacy, tact, a professional demeanor, and able to relate to people of diverse demographic backgrounds
- Committed to continuous quality improvement in systems, processes, and performance; consistently exercises a learning attitude and approach to all duties
- Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; team-oriented
- Able to avoid conflicts of interest and maintain confidentiality at all times

- Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position
- Certification in Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P) required
- Valid Driver's License required at time of hire
