Job Title: Consumer Loan Processor IV

Job Summary:

The Consumer Loan Processor IV is a critical role in our lending team, responsible for reviewing and verifying complex consumer loan applications from conditional approval to closing. This position requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify required loan documentation for approved loan applications
  • Review and verify all required support materials, such as titles and flood certificates
  • Communicate with customers to collect and review additional information as needed
  • Provide support to customers, branches, and lending staff as required
  • May train new branch personnel and assist in the development of loan processing procedures
  • Test new systems and documentation software
  • Answer phones and assist customers with inquiries
  • Collect and review all conditions placed on loan by lender and mortgage underwriter
  • May assist in the training of Loan Processors I, II, and III
  • May assist the Loan Processing Center Manager with special projects
  • Process all specialty products and advise customers regarding changes in rate and term

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of loan documentation experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of bank loan products and policies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lending software
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to handle heavy workload and meet stringent deadlines
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of state regulations
  • Proficient PC skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience consistently carrying a loan pipeline of 50+ loans

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Maintain regular communication with customers by phone or email

Employee/Team Accountabilities:

  • Complete all annual required training on a timely basis
  • Accurately document conversations with customers in the loan file
  • Establish and follow up on due dates for documentation

OCC Language:

This position falls within the definition of Loan Originator as defined under Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act, 12 CFR Part 1026, and the definition of Mortgage Loan Originator as defined under the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), 12 U.S.C. § 5102 et seq., and its implementing regulations, 12 CFR Part 1007.

Eligibility:

Must be eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under the standards established by Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act, 12 CFR Part 1026.

Registration:

Must be eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry) in accordance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), 12 U.S.C. § 5102 et seq., and its implementing regulations, 12 CFR Part 1007.

Criminal Background Check:

Satisfactory results on a criminal background check and a credit report check, and statements/certification from job applicant regarding administrative, civil, and/or criminal findings by any government agency/authority, are required by federal law for this position.
