Custodial Services Trainee

Purpose and Key Responsibilities
The Custodial Services Trainee position is a temporary role designed to provide individuals with the opportunity to acquire fundamental skills and knowledge in custodial tasks. Participants will gain hands-on experience at various locations, each offering unique learning experiences.
Selected individuals for this training program must fulfill specific criteria and will engage in training for a set number of hours. For additional details on qualification requirements, please refer to the appropriate resources.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct sweeping and mopping of floors, hallways, and staircases; perform stripping, waxing, and buffing of surfaces; vacuum and shampoo carpets and rugs.
- Dust and polish surfaces including desks, countertops, and furniture; clean windows, blinds, mirrors, and drinking fountains; maintain cleanliness of refrigerators.
- Sanitize offices, restrooms, and fixtures; ensure cleanliness and disinfection of patient care areas in accordance with established protocols.
- Assist in moving furniture and heavy items; utilize ladders and perform tasks requiring physical dexterity.
- Manage waste collection, movement, and disposal.
- Prepare cleaning solutions and restock supplies as necessary.
- Engage in ongoing training and skill development.
- Uphold cleanliness and sanitary standards throughout all work areas.
- Keep custodial equipment and supplies organized and in good condition.
- Collaborate effectively with Goodwill staff and clients.
- Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- This role is temporary in nature.
- This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
