We are seeking an Entry-Level Construction Materials Engineering Technician to join our Construction Services team in Atlanta, Georgia.



About the Role:

This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to learn and grow in a hands-on environment. As a Construction Materials Engineering Technician, you will primarily work outdoors, contributing to projects and ensuring safety and integrity. Your hard work will be rewarded as you see projects come to life and gain valuable experience.



Responsibilities:


  • Review plans specifications and Documentation: Understand project requirements before fieldwork; accurately record observations and testing results related to construction materials.
  • Utilizing Metafield: Utilize field and laboratory information management systems efficiently for data organization.
  • Equipment: Maintain accuracy of field and laboratory tools to meet industry standards.
  • Special Inspection observations: Adhere to International Building Code (IBC) standards for testing and inspecting construction materials.
  • Communicate with stakeholders: Engage with management, contractors, and clients to relay project progress and address concerns.


About You:


  • High School diploma/GED
  • 0-2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
  • Active certifications: American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), DOT Certifications
  • Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
  • Math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
  • Proficient data entry into multiple software applications on a smart device, using Microsoft Office and email


Requirements:


  • Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment
  • Work outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
  • Travel out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
  • Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
