The Activity Director is accountable for all programming, organizing, scheduling, budgeting, promoting, facilitating, and directing activities and excursions for the Community to enhance residents' independence and quality of life, in alignment with the company's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Create an engaging, innovative, and rewarding social environment throughout the Community and encourage resident involvement through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie screenings, exercise sessions, the formation of clubs, games, artistic and creative opportunities, educational classes, and other such activities.
Actively participate in residents' activities by personally leading events and motivating resident involvement in all activities, excursions, and special events.
Recruit, develop, manage, and schedule Activity Assistants, Drivers, and Community Volunteers. Ensure a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, adhering to established safety standards. Foster teamwork through collaborative interactions with colleagues and other departments. Must be able to operate Community vehicles.Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required. Requires a current Class C license; preference for either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in providing planned activities and knowledge in assessing residents' needs.
Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees and volunteers. Flexibility in work schedule is essential, including availability for holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as necessary to ensure adequate coverage within the department.
Proficient in operating a personal computer and skilled in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.). Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests. For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to be vaccinated, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
