Job Summary

Ameresco is seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Project Manager to join our Smart Building Solutions team in Michigan or northern Ohio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the construction and implementation of multimillion-dollar energy efficiency projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily construction, administrative, and technical aspects of renewable construction projects, ensuring timely completion and energy savings for public, institutional, government, and commercial customers.
  • Drive profit through efficient project execution and change orders/value add, maintaining a strong focus on cost control and budget management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including project team members, customers, and vendors, to ensure seamless communication and project success.
  • Develop and maintain project status notes, including accurate records of meetings, decisions, and actions, to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Assist management with project accounting, budgeting, project schedule and tracking, reporting quality management, and internal communications, ensuring compliance with Ameresco's financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, codes, and standards, including OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, and project management regulations.
  • Direct interface with customers, managing customer service, relationships, and contractual obligations, to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Development team to develop and implement project designs, scopes, and schedules, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery.
  • Monitor project performance and cost estimates, forecasting estimates through to project completion, to ensure reasonableness against plans and actual expense rates.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor bids, ensuring timely delivery, quality control, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality control, project delivery on time and on budget, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking critical path activities and outstanding items, to ensure timely completion and project success.
  • Manage project expenditures and job cost accounting processes, ensuring accuracy, documentation, approvals, payment reporting, monthly forecasting, and tracking.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion or progress toward engineering, technical, or industry-related education is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of industrial power, electrical, mechanical, or engineering construction project management experience, focusing on complex facility infrastructure construction, renovations, retrofits, upgrades, building controls, and automation.
