About the Role

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a highly skilled HVAC Engineer to join our team. As an HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing HVAC systems for various projects, working closely with other disciplines to ensure accurate and timely delivery of designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed HVAC system designs, including calculations, equipment sizing, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Review and approve design and construction submittal documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, codes, and standards to ensure designs are compliant and efficient.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • At least 8 years of experience in HVAC design, with a focus on physical design, ductwork, and equipment layout.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microstation, with experience creating design drawings, flow diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Prior knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ASHRAE, SMACNA, and NFPA.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE license.
  • Experience with Fire Protection system design and related terms.
  • Experience with Plumbing system design and related terms.
  • Work experience in the industrial service industry.
