Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Compensation Director to join our Total Rewards COE at IDEXX Laboratories. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing executive compensation programs across the globe. Your expertise will ensure that our executive compensation programs are aligned with our company's strategic objectives and support our global growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop executive compensation programs, including long-term incentive plans and equity plans.
  • Oversee the annual proxy planning and drafting process, including coordination with legal and financial reporting staff.
  • Prepare and review proxy statement compensation tables and related footnotes, as well as draft language for executive compensation programs in the proxy statement CD&A.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Investor Relations on shareholder outreach efforts related to executive compensation programs.
  • Review market data for senior executives and provide expert support on executive job evaluations and compensation recommendations.
  • Produce meeting materials for the Compensation and Talent Committee (C&TC) of the Board of Directors, including executive compensation materials.
  • Ensure that executive compensation programs are aligned with our Executive Compensation philosophy and strategies.
  • Develop and maintain peer competitive intelligence for real-time understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Liaise with the Benefits area for executive benefits and serve as liaison for the Deferred Compensation Plan.
  • Administer equity plans related to retirees and the Board of Directors.
  • Stay current on compensation-related laws and trends and recommend changes to our programs as appropriate.
  • Develop communications to ensure plan participants' understanding of programs and increase the perceived value of executive compensation offerings.
  • Develop collaborative working relationships with internal and external resources to ensure compliance with internal corporate governance guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in rotation/special projects within the global total rewards organization, including management of pay audit/pay gap reporting activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 10 years of functional experience in designing and managing executive compensation programs on a global basis or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and drive results.
  • Ability to comprehend, manage, assess, and integrate complex issues and viewpoints.
  • Strong technical and analytical ability, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and facilitation skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple functions.
  • Robust financial acumen, understanding of accounting and tax issues related to executive compensation programs preferred.
  • Flexibility to work well under pressure managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across multiple functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to gain the attention and respect of senior-level leaders and effectively present information to executives.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
