Location: This role requires proximity to our headquarters, with a hybrid work model that includes onsite presence 2-3 days a week.
Your Key Responsibilities:
As an integral member of the Corporate Strategy Team, you will enhance our strategic efforts by collecting and interpreting data to inform business decisions. Your role will be pivotal in the comprehensive strategy development process through conducting market research and collaborating with cross-functional teams to produce insights that shape IDEXX's overarching strategy.
Strategic Projects and Initiatives: Oversee high-priority strategic projects, including assessments of adjacent markets and cross-departmental initiatives aimed at fostering business growth. Your responsibilities will encompass project definition, analysis, design, management, and execution.
Market Evaluation and Competitive Research: Execute thorough market evaluations, including competitive benchmarking, SWOT analysis, and trend analysis within the industry, to guide strategic decision-making and uncover market opportunities and risks.
Strategic Insights and Recommendations: Convert market evaluations and competitive insights into actionable recommendations for senior management, aiding in strategic planning, product development, pricing strategies, and market expansion initiatives. This position will lead our annual strategic planning data collection and analytics process on a global scale, impacting financial forecasts.
Support for Strategic Planning Processes: Create guidance materials, including market insights and competitive intelligence, to bolster strategic analyses and content creation. Collaborate with teams on the development of their strategic plans, providing analytics as necessary.
Competitive Response Planning: Formulate proactive and reactive strategies to counter competitive threats and seize market opportunities, utilizing scenario planning, competitive simulations, and contingency planning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with diverse teams across various geographies and business lines, including Point of Care, Marketing, R&D, Commercial, and Finance/Investor Relations, to align strategies, drive execution, and develop necessary content for successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
Team Leadership and Development: Guide junior members of the Corporate Strategy team by promoting a culture of continuous learning, a growth mindset, collaboration, and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience in a consulting environment is advantageous.
- Direct experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, management consulting, or similar roles, ideally within the healthcare or life sciences sectors.
- Demonstrated success in:
- Leading strategic projects and initiatives, with a solid grasp of strategic planning methodologies and frameworks.
- Translating complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Exceptional communication and influencing abilities, effectively presenting findings and recommendations to senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Critical thinking skills, with the ability to anticipate market trends and identify opportunities for business growth and differentiation.
- Adapting swiftly to changing resource needs, maximizing available resources, and creatively sourcing additional resources.
- Experience in competitive intelligence, market analysis, or business intelligence is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
