Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight:
- Supervise the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Guarantee compliance with GAAP and other pertinent accounting regulations.
- Review and validate financial reports for precision and thoroughness.
Budget Management:
- Direct the annual budgeting procedure for all properties.
- Analyze budget discrepancies, offering insights and recommendations.
- Develop and sustain long-term financial projections.
Team Leadership:
- Guide and mentor the property accounting team.
- Delegate tasks, establish objectives, and assess performance.
- Promote a collaborative and high-achieving work environment.
Accounts Management:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Ensure prompt and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Manage tenant billing and collection processes.
Support for Property Management:
- Collaborate with property managers to deliver financial insights and analysis.
- Assist in preparing operating expense reconciliations.
- Ensure correct accounting treatment of property transactions.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Establish and maintain internal controls to protect company assets.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits and evaluations.
Process Enhancement:
- Assess and improve accounting systems and procedures.
- Implement best practices to boost efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay informed on industry trends and technological advancements.
Strategic Contributions:
- Engage in strategic planning and decision-making initiatives.
- Provide financial analysis to support business development efforts.
- Assist in due diligence for acquisitions and sales.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role within the commercial real estate sector.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-disciplined with sound judgment.
- Adept at multitasking while fostering positive working relationships.
