Position Overview

HJH Investments is on the lookout for a dedicated Property Accountant to enhance our financial team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a flexible schedule within a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. The Property Accountant will manage daily accounting and financial responsibilities for a portfolio of commercial properties, which includes:

  • Managing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions.
  • Reconciling general ledger transactions and executing necessary journal entries for assigned properties.
  • Overseeing tenant recoveries, including Common Area Maintenance (CAM), taxes, and insurance.
  • Reviewing, posting, and monitoring tenant bill backs.
  • Delivering professional and responsive accounting support to internal stakeholders, property managers, tenants, and vendors.
  • Inputting tenant information and establishing new properties in Appfolio.
  • Assisting with financial planning and analysis, including budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Contributing to the development of protocols and procedures to enhance departmental efficiency and consistency.

To excel in this position, we seek candidates who:

  • Possess strong analytical, financial, and data management capabilities.
  • Have 2-4 years of experience in Commercial Property Management and/or Real Estate Development Accounting.
  • Are familiar with Appfolio or similar property management software (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Exhibit strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrate excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Are self-motivated and exercise sound judgment.
  • Can effectively manage multiple tasks while fostering positive working relationships.
  • Proactively solve problems, embrace new projects, and improve processes.
  • Show a strong desire to learn and advance within the role and the organization.
