Overview:
PRC Resources is seeking an Automation Engineer with expertise in water treatment systems. In this role, you will be integral to the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated solutions that enhance the functionality of water treatment facilities.
Your key responsibilities will encompass the development of control strategies, programming of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), configuration of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and resolution of automation-related challenges.
You will work collaboratively with diverse teams to ensure the effective and dependable operation of water treatment processes.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promote and uphold a safe working environment by actively engaging in safety initiatives and hazard identification.
Configure HMI (FactoryTalk and Wonderware).
Diagnose and repair instrumentation, control systems, analyzers, and electrical equipment.
Develop or adjust control logic to accommodate changes in equipment or operational conditions.
Establish, maintain, and revise standard operating procedures as necessary.
Review equipment startup/shutdown protocols to ensure safety compliance.
Serve as the controls subject matter expert: Participate in meetings and audits as required.
Formulate action plans to ensure facilities meet relevant regulations and standards.
Collaborate with colleagues to share insights and foster consistency across the organization.
Conduct research and perform cost/benefit analyses on new equipment or processes for potential implementation.
Assist in the development of best practices in both plant and field operations.
Set up and utilize various shop tools and specialized testing equipment for machine installation or maintenance tasks.
Conduct or facilitate evaluation tests on valves, motors, instruments, etc.QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in process instrumentation and electrical maintenance within a water treatment context.
Skilled in troubleshooting 120-volt AC controls, 480-volt motors, and switchgear.
Proficient in troubleshooting using loop diagrams, schematics, ladder logic, electrical one-line diagrams, and P&I drawings.
Experienced in maintaining process control loops, electronic controls, valves, and transmitters.
Familiarity with SLC 500/5000 and Compact/Micro Logix systems.
Working knowledge of standard process software.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
Willingness to travel to support operations as necessary.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and perform walking, bending, and stooping tasks. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator, and respond to visual and audible alarms.
Rockwell PLC certifications are highly preferred.
