Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimating Director to oversee our estimating department specializing in high-voltage electrical construction. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with extensive experience in construction estimating.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the firm's estimating activities, including pre-bid attendance, bid management, cost databases, and estimating software.
  • Direct, plan, organize, and coordinate estimating functions, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between all disciplines and parties.
  • Establish timelines and estimating goals for timely submittals, reviewing and approving bids, specifications, drawings, and contracts to proactively address potential issues.
  • Develop department protocols for best estimating practices, manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic fast-paced environment, and ensure quality of services provided by the estimating staff meets project requirements.
Requirements

To be successful as an Electrical Estimating Director at William Charles Construction, you should have:

  • Proven high-level construction estimating experience, leadership, and mentoring skills.
  • Strong presentation skills, verbal/written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of contractual requirements, conceptual estimating, design drawings, and project specifications.
  • Familiarity with industry-leading estimating software.
  • Able to make decisions under tight deadlines and independently produce conceptual estimates.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent progressive work experience (7+ years of estimating on construction projects or 10+ years of experience in lieu of education).

Our compensation package includes a competitive salary range of $160,000-$180,000 per year, based on experience, as well as benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement plan.
