System Integration Electrical Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Installation Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls. As an essential part of our electrical installation process, you will be responsible for installing and checking out electrical control systems.

In this role, you will work closely with contractors and clients to ensure compliance with local codes and deliver high-quality services. Your expertise in reading engineering drawings and determining installation materials will be crucial in ensuring seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install raceways, cables, and wiring to meet local or national codes, standards, and customer system requirements.
  • Lay out electrical controls installation to provide the lowest total installed cost.
  • Mount and terminate controls equipment as needed.
  • Assist sales with electrical estimates, including walking retrofit projects.
  • Determine and validate final termination points to equipment interfaced with the installed system (e.g., chillers, boilers, roof top units, etc.).
  • Check out wiring and terminations of field-installed equipment with test instruments as needed (e.g., volt meters, handheld testers, etc.).
  • Keep management informed of job needs, progress, and issues.
  • Complete paperwork, including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation. Provide feedback to JCI Engineering on changes and keep as-built drawings current.
  • Resolve job site conflicts regarding installation issues or escalate concerns to management as required.
  • Communicate with the customer as necessary upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Adhere to Johnson Controls safety programs and policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A degree in electrical engineering or a relevant field, or equivalent experience in electrical installation techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Possesses working knowledge of local codes as it applies to controls.
  • Experienced in scope determination of installation materials. Able to work independently.

Salary Information:

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000, based on factors such as location, industry standards, and level of experience.
