Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist with mobility and ambulation, ensuring residents' safety and comfort
  • Respond promptly to call lights and observe, identify, and report resident concerns or needs
  • Complete assignments timely, accurately, and in a cooperative manner, following established performance standards and facility policies
  • Provide necessary assistance with oral hygiene, toileting, eating, and drinking
  • Assist with related functions, such as escorting to meals, assisting with laundry, and participating in activities
  • Perform restorative measures, including obtaining and recording vital signs and weights, and assisting with self-administration of medications
  • Document services provided within facility software/databases
  • Consistently work cooperatively and respectfully with residents, family members, facility staff, physicians, and ancillary service providers
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information
  • Assist with monitoring and accountability of residents to enable medical personnel to accomplish health-related tasks
  • Attend all in-service programs, training classes, and domiciliary meetings
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for information contained in the Employee Handbook
  • Observe all facility safety, infection control, and quality improvement policies and procedures, and internal quality improvement processes
Requirements
  • Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant Certification
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Knowledge of Microsoft WORD, Outlook, Excel, and other software applications
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays, as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in the English Language: Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Understanding
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in long-term care or 120-bed skilled nursing facility
Work Environment

This position is in the Career Service system and is located at the Baldomero Lopez State Veterans' Nursing Home of Florida in Land O' Lakes, FL.
