Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asset Protection Operations Coach to join our team at Walmart. As an Asset Protection Operations Coach, you will be responsible for driving sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, assessing economic trends and community needs, and overseeing the stocking and rotation of merchandise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, and cleanliness of the area.
  • Assess economic trends and community needs to inform business decisions.
  • Oversee the stocking and rotation of merchandise to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize losses.
  • Set up, clean, and organize product displays to create an engaging shopping experience.
  • Secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise to prevent losses.
  • Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
  • Introduce and lead company change efforts to drive business results.
  • Provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions.
  • Communicate business objectives to teams effectively.
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates.
  • Manage and support customer service initiatives, including store of the community and community outreach programs.
  • Ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved.
  • Develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Provide process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring of associates.
  • Assign duties, set clear expectations, provide associate recognition, and communicate expectations consistently and effectively.
  • Ensure diversity and inclusion awareness and recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.
  • Control the unexplained loss of merchandise and improve profitability by identifying and communicating performance goals and objectives.
  • Build accountability for policies and procedures and measure adherence to loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Review variances to inventory reports, conduct operational and pre-inventory reviews, and gather data, audit results, and monitor deficiency trends.
  • Identify improvement opportunities, communicate and work with managers and associates to determine corrections needed to inventory controls, and influence the implementation and execution of control corrections.
  • Train managers and associates on operational controls and processes in multiple stores.
  • Detect, deter, investigate, and resolve violations of company policies and criminal activities by investigating alleged fraud and other alleged illegal activities.
  • Conduct investigations relating to company operations and policies, gather evidence, take statements, write case reports, and provide courtroom testimony as needed.
  • Partner in collaborative efforts with other investigative entities.
  • Monitor safety and risk controls within a facility by ensuring an effective safety program is in place.
  • Supervise safety team members, identify accident trends to develop and implement solutions to prevent accidents, observe workplace practices, and provide training to associates on accident prevention techniques.
  • Communicate plans to minimize accidents, oversee safety reviews, and implement plans to improve workplace safety.
  • Manage facility-level training and execution of asset protection, safety, and claims and receiving procedures by reviewing the application of policies, procedures, compliance guidelines, and operational controls.
  • Identify gaps in expectations versus training, determine training needs, develop and deliver training as needed, and manage claims and receiving operations by ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure the timely processing of claims and merchandise deliveries, provide direction for claims or receiving issues, maintain necessary documentation and reporting, and coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identify and communicate goals and objectives, build accountability for and measure progress in achieving results, identify and address improvement opportunities, and demonstrate adaptability and promote continuous learning.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, utilizing and supporting the Open-Door Policy, and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
Requirements
  • Completion of 2 years of college.
  • Option 2: 1 year's experience as a supervisor in a multi-department environment.
  • Option 3: 1 year's experience in one of the following areas: accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection in a multi-department environment.
  • Option 4: 2 years' experience in asset protection or related area.
  • Successful completion of any applicable state requirements to work in asset protection (for example, minimum age, specialized training, certification and/or licensing).
  • If applicable, acquisition of a current, state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • If applicable, successful completion of criminal background check and/or firearms authorized training.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Certification in an asset protection related field (for example, Loss Prevention Qualified, Loss Prevention Certified).
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports to include the responsibility of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
  • Investigative experience.
  • Bachelors: Business, Bachelors: Criminal Justice.
