Waterfront Marine Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Waterfront Marine Engineer to join our Structural/Marine Group in our Baltimore, MD office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing waterfront facilities, including piers, wharves, and bulkheads, as well as waterfront buildings and dry docks.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing structural analysis and design for waterfront projects using various materials, including concrete, steel, aluminum, and FRP.
  • Conducting field investigations, developing concept designs, and creating construction documents for clients across a broad range of markets, including Federal/Local Government and Industrial/Shipbuilding.
  • Developing plans, sections, and details in CADD and BIM platforms, as well as reports, cost estimates, and specifications.
  • Coordinating with other disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements:

  • 4-9 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, with a focus on waterfront facilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Concentration or similar.
  • Experience with structural design and analysis software, including RISA, STAAD, and OPTIMOOR.
  • Experience with vessel berthing and mooring analyses.
  • Experience with drafting and modeling software, including Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards, including ASCE and ACI.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Concentration and a Professional Engineer license.
