We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Private Equity Specialist and Asset Class Manager. This is a key role within our organization, and the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all investment activity in private equity asset classes, advising the CIO team on current and future allocation levels, and collaborating with external managers to evaluate the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all investment activity in private equity asset classes, including manager due diligence, portfolio monitoring, risk management, and special projects.
  • Advise the CIO team on current and future allocation levels, taking into account changing market conditions and risk appetite.
  • Liaise with external managers and coordinate all aspects of risk management and reporting.
  • Collaborate with AIG CIOs and external investment managers to evaluate the portfolio and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and maintain performance benchmarks and establish formal manager oversight processes.
  • Produce materials and present to various AIG governing committees, including local and global Investment Committees and senior management.
  • Assist in manager selection and establish formal manager oversight processes.
  • Develop and maintain AIG Asset Class Frameworks.
  • Utilize AIG platforms to aggregate data and perform internal analysis as needed.
  • Attend AGMs and industry conferences, as appropriate.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in investment management or insurance asset management, with a focus on private equity investments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to infuse the internal investment process with new ideas.
  • MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Third-party manager oversight and experience vetting managers and/or GPs.
  • Experience with eFront preferred, although not required.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical reasoning skills.
  • Attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple tasks, respond to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Limited traveling (up to 10%).
