Environmental Services Specialist

Overview: We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as an Environmental Services Technician. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for our employees, visitors, and patients.
Salary Information: The starting pay for this position is $17.50/hour. In addition, eligible candidates can participate in our education assistance program, which covers the cost of earning a high school diploma or taking ESL classes. Furthermore, we offer wellness incentives up to $1,350 through our LiveWELL program, six weeks paid maternity leave, four weeks paid parental leave, amazing health insurance options, and up to 7% employer-paid retirement contributions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in assigned areas, including dusting, sanitizing, washing windows, sweeping, scrubbing floors, vacuuming, shampooing carpet, restocking restrooms, replacing light bulbs, and reporting repairs.
- Heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers, and finishes.
- Removing waste by collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash containers, changing sharps containers, transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors, recycling materials, and emptying cigarette receptacles in smoking areas.
- Keeping equipment clean and orderly and reporting equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
- Maintaining a safe working environment and providing quality service by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, infection control guidelines, and meeting departmental quality standards.
- Attending required in-service education and training classes, including safety update programs, to maintain technical knowledge.
- Demonstrating the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
Requirements:
- PREFERRED: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- PREFERRED: One year experience.
- Ability to prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.
- Ability to operate equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
Work Environment: Performs repetitive work according to set procedures, works in stressful and fast-paced environments, and occasionally works in extreme temperatures and around unpleasant smells.
