About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or oversee transit engineering studies, preliminary designs, final designs, technical specifications, and cost estimating related to bus rapid transit, streetcar, light rail, and multimodal/active transportation projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff from various agencies.
  • Perform detailed design computations, preliminary layout, modeling, and design.
  • Research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
  • Assist with project design and preparation of plans and specifications and prepare cost and quantity take-off estimates.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
  • 12+ years' progressive experience in the civil engineering field, including transportation and municipal infrastructure.
  • 6 or more years of progressively responsible transit experience or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of federal transportation project processes and requirements.
  • Working knowledge of transitway project development.
  • Working knowledge of MMUTCD and Highway Capacity Manual.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, GeoPAK Drainage, HydroCAD, P8, and GIS.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and own transportation.
