Family Resource Specialist

Summary:
The Family Resource Specialist will provide assessments and services to families with newborns and expectant parents to help them reduce stress factors and increase protective factors within the family. The specialist will work with families to identify their needs and provide support to promote healthy childhood outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Provision
- Conduct in-home assessments to identify family needs and provide support to promote healthy childhood outcomes.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to address family needs and goals.
- Provide education and resources to families on parenting and child development.
- Collaborate with community agencies and providers to ensure families receive necessary services.
Program Operations
- Attend training and meetings to develop professional skills and stay up-to-date on best practices.
- Participate in quarterly group workshops on parenting and child development.
- Communicate regularly with the CVHF Advisory Committee.
Documentation
- Document all assessments and services provided to families.
- Track outcome measures to evaluate program effectiveness.
Cultural Awareness
Staff understands the impact of their personal belief system on delivery of services and adjusts their performance to ensure cultural sensitivity in interactions with others.
Requirements:
- High school diploma and knowledge of infant and child development required.
- Preference given to individuals with Infant, Toddler and Family Specialist Certification and/or bilingual abilities.
- Must have experience and/or knowledge of parenting and child development.
- Must have the ability to convey information to families, professional clinicians, and community agencies.
