Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior management and other university departments to promote the university's mission and fundraising targets.
  • Manage complex development programs and fundraising strategies, including major gifts, planned giving, and corporate partnerships.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with donors, alumni, and other stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and university leaders.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in development and fundraising, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and excellence in our fundraising efforts.
Requirements
  • At least seven years of advancing roles in non-profits, volunteer-driven, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with development practices in a prominent research university.
  • Strong donor relationship skills and deep understanding of university development principles.
  • Experience in managing complex development programs and fundraising strategies.
  • Effective communication skills to promote the university's mission and fundraising targets.
  • Interpersonal skills for collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Verbal and written communication skills for engaging with senior management and donors.
  • Knowledge and connections in arts and cultural sectors, particularly in Los Angeles.
  • Leadership abilities to organize, lead, and assess teams.
  • Analytical and organizational skills for innovative solutions and projects.
  • Proficiency in crafting funding proposals and compelling materials.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours and travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree.
