Job Title: Segment Marketing Manager

Yamaha America is seeking a highly skilled Segment Marketing Manager to join our team in Buena Park, California. As a key member of our Music Education department, you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to engage and advocate for key customer verticals across the entire Yamaha enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute segment marketing activities that contribute to the company's strategic objectives.
  • Integrate product marketing objectives into segment marketing strategies to amplify their effect in the vertical community.
  • Ensure that the segment budget aligns with the company's priorities and highest impact activities.
  • Develop strategies to acquire and nurture segment customers through the customer journey.
  • Create demand and preference for Yamaha products and services through segment-specific go-to-market strategies.
  • Ensure alignment between strategies for product marketing, sales, and artist relations into the segment.
  • Attract, engage, and develop team members within the department.
Requirements:
  • Business Acumen: Understand how the business works, including how Yamaha America makes money and achieves goals.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Ethically gather and analyze data about competitor organizations, customers, and the market for the purpose of business advantage.
  • Customer Insights: Ability to understand and interpret customer data, behaviors, and feedback into conclusions that can be used to make marketing decisions.
  • Marketing Strategy Development: Select a course of action to achieve marketing goals.
  • Sales Alignment and Support: Align marketing work with, and support, sales efforts.
  • Storytelling: Communicate the Brand Promise in an emotional manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in working in, or marketing to, the vertical segment.
  • Experience identifying and monetizing vertical communities.
  • Experience developing and executing a multi-channel strategy to reach a vertical community.
  • Experience gaining brand advocacy through strategic partnerships and other influence tactics.
  • Experience developing marketing strategies with top consumer brands.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple geographies and cultures.
  • Demonstrates success in high-volume, matrixed organization.
  • People management.

Compensation:
  • Up to $95,000 per year.
  • The posted compensation is the base pay. This is the hiring range and does not include bonus potential or the value of benefits. The hiring range does not reflect total earning potential over time.
  • Final offers within the posted compensation range are based on qualifications, skills, and experience required for the role.
