Nuclear Medicine Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Akumin Operating Corp. This is a PRN position in Bellingham, WA, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in nuclear medicine procedures and studies.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure patient safety and radiation safety regulations are met, including proper documentation and technique when working with radioactive materials/patients.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images using PET/CT technology.
- Effectively communicate with customers and radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatments.
- Train new technologists and PC's on nuclear medicine procedures and equipment.
- Troubleshoot scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
- State license, as required.
- CPR certification required.
- Valid state driver's license, as applicable.
- 1-2 years' experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies preferred.
- Ability to work at multiple locations.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport if working on a mobile unit. The employee will be exposed to radioactive isotopes and ionizing radiation. May be exposed to radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk. Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs. See, speak, and hear to communicate with patients. Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel, or crawl. Climb and balance. Carry and lift non-ambulatory patients for transfer or exam.
