About the Role

This PRN Nuclear Medicine- PET/CT technologist position is based in Bellingham, WA, and requires a caring attitude, exceptional communication skills, and attention to detail to ensure patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient safety by pre-screening for contraindications, using aseptic injection technique, and adhering to radiation safety regulations.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images using PET/CT technology.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatments.
  • Train new technologists and PC's to maintain high standards of imaging care.
  • Troubleshoot scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
  • State license, as required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Valid state driver's license, as applicable.
  • 1-2 years' experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures and studies preferred.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
Physical Requirements

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport and will be exposed to radioactive isotopes and ionizing radiation.

More than 50% of the time:

  • Sit, stand, walk.
  • Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs.
  • See, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.

Less than 50% of the time:

  • Stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • Climb and balance.
  • Carry and lift non-ambulatory patients for transfer or examination.
