We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Organ Procurement Specialist to join our Transplant Team at Mayo Clinic. This individual will play a vital role in coordinating all aspects of solid organ procurement and transplantation services.

This is a full-time position with a variety of shifts available, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role:

The OPT Coordinator coordinates all aspects of solid organ procurement for Mayo Clinic Transplant Teams. This role requires strong organizational, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates all aspects of solid organ procurement
  • Collaborates with transplant physician, surgeon, and interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Evaluates data reflective of patient's listing status and interprets information relative to blood type, HLA interpretation, donor specific antibodies, status on national UNOS waiting list, body size, and patient's age-specific needs
  • Covers 24/7 on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis
  • Participates in leadership activities such as community involvement, committee work, and research

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Bachelor's degree in nursing program required
  • Minimum of three years of RN experience required; at least two years of experience as Transplant or Procurement Coordinator preferred
  • Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) or Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) preferred
