Procurement Specialist for Inventory Management

The Procurement Specialist for Inventory Management will be responsible for purchasing goods and services according to the company's policies and procedures.
This role involves overseeing all inventory by coordinating with internal and external partners to ensure accuracy.
The ideal candidate will work closely with vendors to ensure optimum inventory levels and reduce freight costs.
A key aspect of this position is accurately forecasting inventory levels to meet the needs of the business.
The Procurement Specialist will monitor shipping and receiving transactions for accuracy and analyze, verify, and maintain quantities and safety stock, updating the system with ETA dates as needed.
Additionally, they will analyze and evaluate inventory turn, proactively identify and resolve supply chain issues, and prepare supply chain analysis reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintaining pricing histories and other vendor records is also a crucial part of this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced excel experience preferred.
- ERP system or planning system experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably with manufacturer experience.
An Associate Degree in Business with strong supply chain experience is desired, while a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management is highly preferred.
