Join Our Team as a Staff Attorney

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Attorney to join our team at the Justice & Diversity Center of The Bar Association of San Francisco (JDC of BASF). As a Staff Attorney, you will play a critical role in supporting our Special Immigrant Juvenile Status Project (SIJS) and providing legal services to immigrant children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Master the SIJS process in San Francisco and review relevant immigration law to better understand the role of SIJS in immigration cases.
  • Develop a training program for volunteer attorneys taking SIJS cases, including materials, samples, and templates.
  • Recruit and train volunteer attorneys to obtain SIJS orders in San Francisco Superior Court.
  • Coordinate with the SIJS Paralegal on immigration clinics for SIJS clients.
Requirements:
  • J.D. degree and license to practice law in California.
  • Two years minimum family law/custody litigation experience in California.
  • Experience building a successful project or program.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
