Public Safety Officer I

As a Public Safety Officer I at the University of Southern California, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for the Trojan Family. This position requires a strong commitment to public service and a passion for making a positive impact in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguard the university community through proactive patrolling and response to emergency situations.
- Deter and prevent unlawful behavior through effective community engagement and public safety functions.
- Work under the supervision of a watch commander or field supervisor, exercising authority and supervision in accordance with university policies and procedures.
- Maintain the security of university assets and properties.
- Testify in court as a representative of the university.
- Engage with the community through crime prevention and public information programs.
Work Schedule:
- 4/10 alternative work schedule, 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
- Shifts may include holidays, weekends, and overtime, with flexibility to work special events and emergencies.
Selection Process:
- Evaluation of relevant experience and education.
- In-depth screening, including background, psychological, and medical evaluations.
- Pre-employment requirements, including obtaining State of California Patrol Persons and Firearms permits.

Minimum Requirements:
