POSITION SUMMARY: The primary objective of the Environmental Services Associate is to execute the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department in alignment with existing federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility. This role is essential in ensuring that our environment is kept clean, safe, and comfortable for all residents and staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Adhere to established cleaning schedules as closely as possible.
  • Immediately report any accidents or incidents to your supervisor, regardless of severity.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to coordinate daily cleaning services in resident living areas.
  • Perform cleaning tasks including washing, sanitizing, and polishing various fixtures and surfaces.
  • Maintain floors through sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, and disinfecting.
  • Properly dispose of waste and trash, ensuring containers are lined appropriately.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding residents' protected health information and report any suspected violations.
  • Follow safety protocols while performing tasks and utilizing equipment and supplies.
  • Utilize correct methods when mixing cleaning chemicals and solutions, referring to manufacturer guidelines as needed.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when handling hazardous materials.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To successfully fulfill this role, an individual must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are required:
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions regarding cleaning compounds and solutions.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with residents at their respective maturity levels.
