Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the site, ensuring a positive and safe environment for participants.
  • Ensure child-to-staff ratios are maintained at all times.
  • Collect fees and manage site finances.
  • Supervise and support site staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Plan and implement well-organized and engaging activities for participants.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and stakeholders, providing regular updates and feedback.
  • Collaborate with school personnel and other community partners to ensure a seamless and successful program.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including attendance, incident reports, and program evaluations.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of three years' experience in a licensed childcare/day camp facility.
  • Ability to relate to children and adults, with a strong understanding of YMCA values and principles.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as early childhood education or a related field.
  • Experience working with children with special needs.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
