Job Overview

The Switcher I is a critical role within our logistics operations, responsible for the safe and efficient transport of full and empty trailers between the docks and designated drop parking locations in the Trailer Yard. This position plays a vital role in supporting the inbound unloading and outbound loading warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport trailers between the docks and designated drop parking spaces in a timely and safe manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections of trailers to identify any mechanical maintenance needs or potential safety hazards.
  • Maintain a well-organized Trailer Yard to ensure efficient and safe trailer transport.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the work area and warehouse.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management, including pallet building and other warehouse duties.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification, including Pallet Jack, Forklift, Double Forklift, and Switch Tractor.
Work Environment

This role requires working in a noisy and non-temperature-controlled environment, with exposure to the elements and potential noise and temperature extremes.
