Groomer - Petsense

This position is responsible for providing professional pet grooming services to dogs using knowledge of canine characteristics and grooming styles and techniques.

• Deliver exceptional customer satisfaction by providing top-notch pet grooming services.
• Answer phone calls and schedule appointments to ensure seamless customer experience.
• Assist in generating business by calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, and verifying vaccinations.
• Book appointments and greet pets as they come in, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Report all accidents and injuries to the Store Manager promptly.
• Follow established bathing and grooming procedures to maintain high standards.
• Clean ears, clip nails, and perform other necessary services to ensure pets look and feel their best.
• Adhere to customer instructions for clipping patterns and styles.
• Clip dog's hair according to determined patterns, using electric clippers, combs, and shears.
• Comb and shape dogs' coats to achieve a polished look.
• Talk to live animals or use non-physical techniques to keep them calm and relaxed.
• Complete and maintain customer and company forms accurately and efficiently.
• Properly and completely fill out required grooming forms.
• Observe and adhere to all safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Sweep, vacuum, clean, and sanitize cages, tubs, and other areas as needed to maintain high standards.
• Assist in store operations as needed to ensure seamless customer experience.

• Minimum of 1-year experience grooming/styling pets.
• Must be comfortable working with dogs and cats.
• Must provide own tools (clippers, blades, shears) or be willing to purchase required tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Paragon Level 1 & 2 training provided by Tractor Supply.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately.
• Ability to operate and use all grooming tools and equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• Ability to display compassion with animals and treat them accordingly.
• Ability to exhibit attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation.
• Ability to lift and carry pets generally weighing 0-50 pounds.
• Ability to work varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to safely work around pets and pets' waste.

Working environment is favorable, generally working inside with moderate noise. Exposure to wet conditions, particularly when bathing dogs. Exposure to cats and dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Exposure to sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos and soaps, pets, and pet waste.
