Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Research Associate to join our team at the University of Virginia. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and cell culture techniques, including gene cloning, gene transformation, and gene expression analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out basic molecular biology techniques, including gene cloning, gene transformation, and gene expression analysis.
  • Assist in the development of plans for research projects and discuss the interpretation of results.
  • Provide written reports, keep data records, and assist in the preparation of scientific manuscripts for publication.
  • Order laboratory reagents and maintain laboratory stocks.
  • Schedule and maintain records of equipment/facilities maintenance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, preferably biology, biochemistry, or plant science.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory setting, with extensive periods of time standing and squatting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
