Clinical Therapist Position at Children's Home of Jefferson

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join our team at Children's Home of Jefferson.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive clinical services to clients and their families, including individual, family, group therapies, crisis intervention, advocacy, assessment, planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform intakes, interviews new patients to obtain information and identify behavioral healthcare needs, and refer to psychiatric medication management staff if appropriate.
- Participate in interdisciplinary staff meetings to discuss new cases and formulate treatment plans.
- Provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups using evidence-based therapeutic methods, to assist patients in treating mental health symptoms, increasing level of functioning in multiple domains, and achieving more satisfying lives.
- Makes referrals to various health, social, vocational, and educational agencies and facilities to arrange for supportive services for patients.
- Provides emotional support needed by clients involved in the process of growth or change.
- Refers patients to psychiatric medication management staff for medication review as needed.
- Prepares and maintains various records and reports such as patient treatment plans, case progress notes, referrals, letters, and treatment and discharge summaries.
- Contacts patient's families and other collaterals to obtain information to assess and monitor patient's progress and treatment as appropriate.
- Provide crisis interventions as necessary.
Required Education and Experience:
Licensure by the New York State Department of Education as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or LCSW-R) or Licensed Psychologist. (Permit authorized with provided supervision.)
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Successful completion of routine pre-employment requirements as mandated by the New York State Department of Health, Office of Mental Health and Office of Children and Family Services along with ongoing clearings and exclusion checks. These requirements are to include employment health requirements, Covid-19 vaccination or exemption, reference checks, criminal background checks/fingerprinting, State Central Registry clearance, and your eligibility to work in the United States. Valid NYS driver's license required.
Estimated Salary$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and licensure.
