Job Summary

The Community Action Planning Council of Jefferson County is seeking a highly qualified Early Childhood Education Specialist to join our team as a Master Teacher in the Universal Pre-K Program. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a healthy, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool children.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead teacher in the classroom, working collaboratively with the Teacher Assistant and Teacher Aide to implement curriculum and activities designed to promote early childhood education and development;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families and communities to ensure seamless transitions and ongoing support for young children;
  • Monitor student progress, identify areas of need, and develop strategies to address these needs;
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in early childhood education;
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress and program participation.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

  • A Master's or Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education with NYS certification in Birth-2nd Grade; a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a degree in education with at least 18 credit hours in early childhood courses; an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education will be considered based on experience in the early education field;
  • NYS Early Childhood Education or Special Education certification in B-2 or N-6 or a 5-year plan to obtain certification;
  • Previous experience working with preschool children in an early childhood education setting;
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of program and agency-related information.

Estimated Salary Range

$23.13 per hour (Associates) - $19.26 per hour (Bachelors)
