Job Overview

About the Role

This position is responsible for providing respiratory care to patients through assessment, planning, intervention, education, and evaluation. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an ICU/CCU environment and be certified as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient's physical status by inspection, palpation, auscultation, percussion, patient behavior, and reviewing existing data in patient's record.
  • Perform treatments according to physician orders, explain therapy, and therapeutic goals to patient; modify treatment procedures based on patient response.
  • Selects, assembles, monitors, and evaluates mechanical ventilators for proper function and operation.
  • May perform arterial blood gas punctures and analysis, EKG's, and understand electronic monitoring, lead placement, and basic arrhythmias.
  • Maintains all Respiratory Therapy equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school for Respiratory Care.
  • Current Respiratory Care License in the state they are working.
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialed.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000-$110,000, depending on experience. Bon Secours Mercy Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
