At Clean Harbors, we are dedicated to solving tough environmental problems through innovation and proven methodology. We are seeking an Environmental Field Laborer to join our team in Germantown, WI.

About the Job

This is a challenging role that requires active participation in the field, responsible for performing tasks associated with hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials. A valid driver's license is required, and you will be expected to work a Monday through Friday schedule with occasional overnight travel (up to 25%). You will also be on call every other week.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority by following policies, processes, and acting safely at all times.
  • Engage in strenuous physical labor, including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
  • Operate light and heavy equipment, handle various hand tools and powered industrial tools, and work with vibration-producing tools.
  • Wear and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, skin, face, hand, and foot protection in multiple combinations.
  • Work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Work in atmospheres and locations with potential exposure to chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic, or corrosive.
  • Work in potentially elevated noise levels, confined spaces, including lifting in areas of low clearance.
  • Work at elevations, including working from ladders and scaffolding.
  • Assist in field sampling activities and calibration of meters.
  • Climb ladders, scaffolding, and into and out of trucks, tanks, and containers.
  • Work extended time periods.
  • Attend compliance and safety update meetings.
  • Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Safely load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary.
  • Follow local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules.
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to perform physical functions per Key Responsibilities.
  • Able to be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
