We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and support.

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to our physicians and staff. This includes preparing patients for examinations, taking medical histories, and performing various laboratory tests.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, updating medical histories, and documenting relevant information
  • Assist physicians with procedures, exams, and surgeries as needed
  • Perform laboratory tests, such as EKGs, and prepare specimens for testing
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographics, medical history, and treatment plans
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to ensure seamless interaction between patients, families, and healthcare teams
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a strong educational background and relevant experience in a medical setting. A certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or similar organization is highly desirable.

A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required, along with no prior experience necessary. However, previous experience in a medical office environment, such as an internship, is preferred. Additionally, ACLS through the American Heart Association and BLS certifications are required as needed by the practice.

Salary and Benefits
